About UUHAI
UUHAI was established in 2020, to bring Mongolian rock music to the world’s stage. We blend globalized rock music with UNESCO-registered cultural legacies of Mongolian throat singing, long song, and horsehead fiddle music in creating Mongolian rock metal songs.
Through powerful displays of unity, ancient warriors raised a tidal wave of “uuhai”, or “hoo-rah” in English, shouting in unison toward the blue sky, the sun, moon, stars, the earth, mountains, and waters. This collective cry has a long history of strengthening spirit and resolve as warriors charged into battle, often without regard for their own lives. Rooted in spiritual tradition, “uuhai” served as a mantra of goodwill and fortune, a way to release energy, embolden the soul, and awaken the elements within the body.
